Sustainabilities Project: Seedlings for the future

Updated: Sep 19, 2025

Our seedlings, a forest for all

Sustainability has become a crucial focus in our efforts to combat climate change and preserve the environment for future generations. Among the various initiatives, tree planting stands out as one of the most effective strategies for enhancing biodiversity, improving air quality, and creating resilient ecosystems.

How the Project Began

The “Seedlings for the Future” project was initiated by the vision of the executive management teams of Crown Ceramics Co., Ltd. and Manageable Insulator Co., Ltd. Their shared aspiration is to restore forests and create sustainable green spaces that benefit both the environment and the local community. From this vision, the project took root — beginning with reforestation around the factory and expanding outward through continued collaboration with employees, suppliers, customers, and the local community.

Mission

To restore forests and create green spaces that sustainably benefit both the environment and the local community.

Vision

To transform the diverse forest landscape surrounding our factory into a thriving habitat for various wildlife species, while revitalizing the soil, enhancing rainwater retention, reducing the risk of flooding, and absorbing carbon dioxide to mitigate climate change. This vision will be realized through the continued collaboration between the company, its employees, and the local community.

Where We Begin

Our forest planting will begin on 16,000 sqm of land surrounding our factory in Khao Khlung Subdistrict by 2025, with a long-term goal of expanding the forest area to 64,000 sqm.

Tree Planting Initiatives in Ratchaburi

On 29 July 2025, our employees joined hands with local leaders, members of the community, suppliers, and customers to plant trees in Ratchaburi, where our factory is located. The day was made meaningful not only by the rows of saplings placed into the ground but also by the spirit of collaboration — people of different roles and backgrounds working side by side, united by a common purpose.

The day was filled with conversations, teamwork, and pride as we watched the first green patches begin to take shape. It represented more than adding trees to the landscape. It reflected a shared memory and a collective commitment to caring for the environment. Each tree will take years to mature, yet the unity and responsibility demonstrated during this activity serve as a reminder that lasting change is possible when people come together with a common goal.

The Trees We Plant

Biodiversity is central to this project. We are planting a variety of tree species — each with its own ecological and community value:

  • Mahogany: Provides shade and valuable timber.

  • Teak: Durable hardwood, essential for construction and craftsmanship.

  • Rosewood (Padauk): Decorative, high-value timber.

  • Siamese Rosewood (Dalbergia): Endangered species, vital for conservation.

  • Ironwood: Extremely strong wood, supports long-term forest resilience.

  • Neem Tree: Known for medicinal properties and shade.

  • Siamese Senna (Cassod Tree): Provides shade and edible flowers, often used in local cuisine.

  • Queen’s Crape Myrtle: Aesthetic flowering tree, enhancing beauty and biodiversity.

Together, these trees will create a thriving, balanced habitat for wildlife while supporting community well-being.

Benefits of Our Tree Planting Initiatives

  • Environmental Improvement: Trees absorb carbon dioxide and release oxygen, contributing to cleaner air and a healthier atmosphere.

  • Enhanced Biodiversity: Planting diverse native species supports wildlife and restores ecological balance.

  • Community Well-being: The initiative fosters unity and creates green spaces that connect people to nature.

  • Climate Resilience: Forests mitigate climate change by providing shade, reducing heat, retaining water, and preventing soil erosion.

Looking Ahead

The Seedlings for the Future project is only the beginning. With 24 rai planted in 2025 and another 40 rai planned in the years ahead, our goal is to cultivate a lasting forest that serves as a living legacy — for the environment, the community, and future generations.
